My cultural treasure- Photo competition
„Share your personal cultural treasure – Connecting Danube Neighbours by Culture“ (CODANEC)
We sent 2 photos to CODANEC competition and they were exhibited from 25 June to 15 July in the Haus der Begegnung in Ulm, Germany.

Description of my cultural treasure:
Racka sheep are an old Hungarian breed of sheep. They have long cuddly wool. Both the male and female sheep have a beautiful spiral-shaped horn. Since there are only a few thousand racka in the world, it is extremely important that many people get to know them. Diligence and perseverance are important to reach this goal. I inherited these skills from my ancestors, who came with a special wooden boot (‘Ulmer Schachtel’) along the Danube to Hungary, in order to build a new home there 200 years ago. This picture, showing me in traditional costume together with racka has an important message.
We got a price also with the following explanation:

The efforts of the László-Gárdonyi family from Diosig shown by photos to promote a natural way of life and to protect the various endangered species of plants and animals, as well as the creativity they show in doing so in their contribution “Racka sheep”- an Endangered Farm Animal with Important message for Us and for the Next Generation” deserve outstanding praise.
